Kona Coffee
You can’t go wrong with a bag of our 100% Kona Coffee beans, ground or whole, to spread “holiday cheers.” Here are a few of our suggestions if you’re looking to introduce loved ones to Kona Coffee, wow a coffee expert or reinspire someone’s morning routine.
For roasts that truly embody the spirit of the Big Island, we have two Classic Kona Coffee suggestions:
- Full City Roast: A favorite among both coffee connoisseurs and casual coffee drinkers, Fully City is the emblem of what makes Kona Coffee so unique. Its medium-dark roast profile creates a wide spectrum of taste experiences including hints of citrus, nuttiness, cream, vanilla, caramel and chocolate all softly balanced and joined together.
- Peaberry: This 100% Kona Coffee roast is exceptionally rare – it’s created when one of the two hemispheric seed halves that occupy the inside of a coffee cherry doesn’t fertilize and results in a single oval seed lovingly referred to as a “Peaberry.” Adding to its uniqueness, peaberries roast differently, revealing different characteristics of the coffee which our certified coffee grading team describes as “complex and delicate with bright acidity, notes of cherry, citrus fruit and a naturally sweet after taste.” If you’re buying a gift for a tea lover, this is a great choice as the experience Peaberry delivers has been compared to drinking a high-quality tea!
For the coffee experts in your life, a bag of one of our Specialty & Estate Kona Coffees will certainly do the trick! With its elegant coffee tastes, notes of rich dark chocolate and balanced flavor palette, Greenwell Farms Private Reserve is a much-loved gift that people love to share during the holidays and other special occasions. Organic Hawaiian Honey
Sweeten up the season with some local Hawaiian honey! Great for teas, toast, marinades, cheese and more, we offer a selection of our neighbor Big Island Bees’ fine honey that’s become a staple item in our gift shop. Fittingly known as the “Hawaiian Christmas Berry Tree” the Wilelaiki Blossom Honey contains notes of spice and sweet coconut which adds an extra dimension of flavor to anything it’s paired with. For a little variety, there’s a three-pack of honey which includes the Christmas Berry honey, Ohia Lehua honey and Macadamia Nut Blossom honey to showcase a range of Big Island flavor. This honey sampler, plus a wooden charcuterie board, makes a thoughtful gift for any wine and cheese lover or your friend who loves to host guests.
Nuts and Chocolates
One of the most requested and received souvenirs from a beautiful Big Island vacation? Macadamia Nuts, of course! For those that prefer a savory snack, our Roasted Macadamia Nuts are lightly salted and perfectly roasted for that delightful crunch. On the sweet side, chocolate fans will rejoice over our Chocolate Covered Macadamia Nuts, available in Milk Chocolate or Semi-Sweet Chocolate. Feeling adventurous?
